7 REASONS WHY LEAVING AN UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIP IS HARD (PART 2)
Tea Talk Vietnam & CoRE presents the next 4 reasons WHY it's hard for you to leave an unhealthy relationship
4.You enjoy fixing everything
It will require a lot of effort if you want to maintain and improve an unhealthy relationship, as well as hoping that your partner will change. "You genuinely believe that if you love that person and give them a chance, they will stop doing negative things to harm the relationship between you two," Bustle says. But will things truly improve?
Considering ending this relationship might help you realize that there are many more meaningful things in life than trying to fix a relationship.
5. You're waiting and hoping everything will get better
You keep telling yourself, "things will get better," nurturing that hope. However, because you're attached to a toxic person and they tend to continue their harmful actions, the best thing you can do is to escape from this toxic relationship.
6.You've invested too much effort into this relationship
Do you find yourself thinking, "We've been together for so long. It's better if I stay. Or I've invested too much effort into this relationship, I can't let it fail"? Madison says, "It's tough to let go of something when you feel like you've put everything into it. However, it's not a good reason to stay in this relationship. If this is the only reason you're attached to them, maybe you need to think about what you truly want or seek the help of a psychotherapist.
7.You can't imagine/accept being alone
By impacting your self-esteem and mental well-being, an unhealthy relationship may make you feel like this relationship is everything to you. Therefore, leaving can be extremely challenging. "For some people, they believe that having an unhealthy relationship is still better than having no relationship at all," says Madison. "They'd rather be unhappy living with that person than being alone."
This perspective may change as your self-esteem begins to rise, and leaving this relationship becomes easier.
